This is really a Colt Army replica, but Traditions put a naval scene on the cylinder. Might as well buy the Traditions Army, and be more authentic. It's a reasonable price for a black-powder gun, and with the steel frame, it should last quite awhile.

No such thing as a Navy .44cal. Colt Navy revolvers were .36cal, Colt Army was a .44cal. .36 Cal revolvers were call Navy and .44cal revolvers were called Army during this time period.

The Colt Navy was a .36 cal gun, however the Confederate government did produce a copy during the US Civil War, in .44 cal. So it would be more accurately named the Colt Confederate Navy. The Confederate version also used a lot of brass because of a war time shortage of steel.

This gun feels great in my hand and it is made tough. It is better than I thought for the money. It is balanced just right and looks exactly like the pic. Havent shot it but reviews say its accurate. Just my thoughts.

This is one of my favorites. I have shot 100 rounds of .451 balls at 777 FFF 30 grain of powder and have had only several caps not fire, I was using CCI no. 11 caps other than that it's a great revolver, very fun, also I just bought me the Pietta steal frame 1860 Army, also a great reliable gun.

Nice looking gun, well made, fit and function is great. Smooth action, have not had a chance to shoot it, cold and rainy.

I got this to compliment my 1860 Army. .44 allows me to not have to buy additional things to go 36 caliber and thus keep things simple and consistent. I load with 20 grains of Pyrodex topped with a wonder wad to lube as well as to prevent chain fire. Is very accurate, easier on the gun and saves powder. I have loaded 25 grains but found 20 is perfect for target purposes. Cleaning is easily done of barrel and cylinder in warm soapy water, followed by rinse with boining water as the heat
