I reload my own buckshot with a roll crimp a little longer than factory loads, and my TRISTAR feeds perfect. that and its just a great firearm.

The 20 gauge TS Raptor synthetic NIB was purchased for my my teenage daughter to utilize. The ship to store took about 50 hours. That is impressive, The assembly, take down, degreasing, cleaning, and reassembly left me second guessing the purchase. Aligning and removing the charging handle was a bear. I had to utilize 3/16 cordage to remove the the charging handle. I was already aware charging handle removal required proper bolt alignment in advance. The charging handle Reinstalltion was easy. The synthetic forearm is FLIMSY and unimpressive. However it flexible enough to survive much abuse. The TS Raptor is an affordable shotgun, but engineered with an unfamiliar design. The barrel/forearm reinstallation took a patience. The barrel is difficult to fit into the receiver. The forearm wouldn’t seat into the receiver cup until I firmly hand tightened the magazine cap. Cleaning, degreasing, and a light oiling was a breeze. We ran 3 high brass loads through the shooting cycle. Ideally, I’d run 15 high brass to ensure a good spring breakin. However, I didn’t have the additional high brass 20 gauge loads on hand. . I was astonished by the LOW RECOIL. Less than a Remington 1100 20 gauge LT! We shot 50 low brass target loads at empty shell boxes and stripped corn ears. The red fiber optic is easy to locate after shouldering the Raptor. Improved cylinder pattern was very acceptable a 20-25 yards. She did have 3 failures to fully eject. This was a shooter issue. After explaining recoil, accepting recoil, and taking a proper stance, the issue stopped. The next 35 rounds ejected flawlessly, low brass Federal target loads. THE GUN SHOOTS GREAT! As an adult male, THE GUN SHOULDERED COMFORTABLY. She is 5’ 4”. She’ll likely gain a few inches. I would purchase a youth model for anything 5’5 or smaller. I paid just over 3 and quarter bills for gun out the door, NIB. If reliability and durability continue, I received a heck of a shotgun. Anxious to purchase an extra full choke and run some 3” loads. We’ll run about 100 light loads through the Raptor next week and give her a good cleaning. The intent for use is target, dove, small game, and turkey adventures. Yes, we’ll see what slugs do at 50 yards as well. Overall, more than pleased, but we’ll find out after a variety of additional loads. Only regret at this point, I wish I woluld have purchased the walnut stock.

This gun has been nothing but problems backfiring, not ejecting shells properly, parts breaking. I would not buy a Tristar again. All this with limited number of shells ran through it.

Purchased 20ga little over a year. Wouldn’t fire after trying to break in through 8 rounds. Repaired! Shot a few heavy game loads, Turkey and target loads roughly 12 shots total. Tried to sight in after to turkey loads wouldn’t fire bolt stuck back. Repaired! Was told heavy loads fine but target loads will be a problem! Turks better wake up! Traded it in no more for me..

This shotgun actually went down $30 in price since I bought it a couple weeks ago...which is mildly upsetting. But regardless, this is an incredible value. As long as proper break in procedure is followed, it will cycle anything. It will kill birds and clays, and has done both for me these last few weeks, so it does its job. I followed proper break in procedures and have been thrilled with its performance since. Decent quality at this price makes it nearly unbeatable for a semi 20ga.

This inexpensive auto shoots better (less jams) than my $2,000 sporting clays gun. It also has real wood and not plastic stocks.

fired 50 rounds high brass with no issues and shoots where you point it. like the gun. slide release is very tough and you can tell it will take a long time to break in if at all. springs are all very strong. will use it for upland birds later in season. modified choke patterns real good. no real complaints for a $380.00 shotgun. i am hard on guns and this is doing good.
