Uberti 1885 High Wall Carbine 28 inch 45 Colt 348800

I ordered my Uberti 1885 High Wall late on a Monday afternoon and I'm holding it/admiring it on Thursday after picking it up at my local Alabama dealer....so shipping was very fast. Initial inspection leaves me very (!) satisfied and even impressed. This is a beautiful rifle! I'm ordering a Soule type vernier sight and a globe front sight for this, as soon as possible. I cast and load .45-70 already and I'm looking forward to finding the right, heavier than 500-gr bullet mould to get the most out of this rifle.

I've been shooting my 45/70 Uberti Highwall for a number of years now and have had zero problems with it. I mostly shoot cast lead bullets with moderate powder charges that I reload myself and lately I've been using powder coated bullets which make cleaning much easier with less lead build up in the barrel. To make sighting easier for my old eyes I added a vernier rear sight and a HIVIZ front sight to it and had the butt stock and forearm refinished which really brought out the beautiful grain under the red factory finish. All in all it's been a good shooting and reliable firearm. I call it my portable artillery. :-)
