With matte-finished metalwork and matching matte Turkish walnut stock, the Orion Matte Blue is right at home chasing birds, whether that’s chukar in the mountains or quail in the desert. Equipped with automatic ejectors that throw empty hulls clear of the chamber, the Orion is notable for its slim action that employs a set of sliding locking bars nestled in above those ejectors that result in less bulk than many similar over/unders. Fitted with 26, or 28, barrels in 12 gauge or 26, in 20 gauge, the Orion Matte Blue has a vented top rib fit with a single brass bead and is shipped with a set of interchangeable chokes.

1 year agoI bought one of these over a year ago. It is a great gun to shoot and hunt with. I cannot speak any more highly of it this this.

1 year agoI have almost a dozen O/U's and my Orion has by far, the best balance, ergonomics and shot pattern of any of them. As one moves it from a 2-hand ready carry to the shoulder, it feels like it comes up of its own acvord. Ever since I picked it up I have taken more birds, in more situations than the guys using other actions and other O/U's. Besides that, it is elegantly, beautifully tough. The grade A walnut is as hard as nails and never seems to show any wear in spite if some difficult hunting conditions. I have been in South Dakota hunting in temperatures well below zero, and it still functions perfectly. It is now, and will be my perfect field gun for upland game.

1 year agoI just bought this gun and it arrived last week, I took it out today to shoot trap with my kids in the bush. It’s a put together gun, looks very well made and shoots great. I missed the 1st clay pigeon, then went 24 straight after, and most were powered when hit, the gun is not a hard kicker as it has a nice rubber butt pad and is very comfortable and my 16 yo daughter shot it without any sore shoulder or complaints. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this gun again, also love how the gun ejects the shells.

1 year agoProbably the best o/u shotgun under 2k. It is a little shiny and glossy, but it is a "Weatherby" after all. Functions like it should.

1 year agoI bought this afew weeks ago to shoot clays and possibly for bird hunting in the future. The action is smooth yet firm; and very precise. Opening the gun loosened up after 50 shells, it only requires a gentle push to open fully. When it locks, it feels secure. Easy to shoot, feels light in the hands, and we'll balanced. Plus the finish is beautiful

1 year agoWell made shotgun, very handsome and shoots exceptionally well. Great with the clays and in the field, I will be buying on for my boys in 20ga. After a thorough review of other o/u shotguns I finally settled on this one. The wifey was furious, but I couldn't be happier!

1 year agoThis is a very nice looking over and under shotgun. In all respects, except one. The knob to remove the fore stock is made from plastic. Everything else is metal. Everything else is just right. Why use a plastic knob on the fore stock? I bought it online from Cabelas so was not aware of this plastic part - because no one mentions it. I probably would of still bought it. Its just disappointing to be good in all respects except there. Plastic does not last as long as metal - it degrades over time. At some point in the future, that plastic part will crack or break off, long after this gun is no longer made, and no replacement part will be available.

1 year agoI’ve been on the fence about buying this gun for over a year, finally Black Friday sale I couldn’t say no to and I couldn’t be happier! This gun swings beautifully, personally a perfect fit for me and was smashing clays all day. I didn’t need anything fancy like a silver pigeon because I plan to hunt with it but it’s still a very nice gun, little stiff to start but after 50-100 shots it smoothed right out. Top quality on a budget, very happy with this shotgun

1 year agoI have 2 seasons of sporting clays on my 12 ga.Orion, approx 3000 rounds. So happy with the gun that I went and purchased the 20 ga. I was even happier and have 1000 rounds on it.

1 year agoFired it 98 times shooting at rats in approximately 45 minutes, I had a sore shoulder but the gun worked great and I had a great time.

1 year agoI picked up and shouldered a 20 ga version of this gun in the store and it fit me like a glove and pointed like a dream. However, I wanted a 12 ga and tried to find one to feel. Unable, I ordered one. The 12 feels heavier and longer in the butt stock. I’ve since shot about a hundred rounds at a sporting clays range. I/it shot very well but at times struggled in mounting due to the length. I like it and recommend it but will likely have the butt stock cut down.

1 year agoThis is probably the best o/u for under $1000. I picked it up for clay shooting and it did not disappoint. The fit and finish is excellent, with gorgeous walnut furniture. It’s got some heft which helps with the recoil. The balance is perfect for tracking clays in midflight. The action out-of-the-box was stiff, but hopefully it will loosen up with use. The ejectors really launched the empty shells with authority. When I’m not shooting it, I like looking at it. It’s really a gorgeous shotgun.
