From upland birds to waterfowl, to fast-moving clays, Weatherby’s Orion over/under handles them all with exceptional double gun performance. It features a traditional boxlock design, forged steel receiver and rich grade “A” walnut stock. A rock-solid, beautiful shotgun that delivers that exceptional balance and effortless swing through. Versatile and adaptable, The Orion Sporting comes with an adjustable comb giving the shooter a personalized cheek weld and combined with the fiber optic front sight, getting on target never felt more natural. The automatic ejectors will throw empties free and clear and allow the shooter a chance for lighting fast reloads. Proven on both the sporting range and in the field, the Orion Sporting is perfect for any situation in any environment.

1 year agoI have used it once on a sporting clays course and it functioned very well. I did not shoot well but was expected with a new firearm. I added a center bead and patterned it resulting in a 65/35 pattern at 20 yards. I did raise the comb also with two of the thicker washers supplied for a better fit. Not crazy about how the forearm attaches.

1 year agoOwners should know that the Orion shotgun accepts the same Choke tubes as WinChoke, Mossberg AccuChoke, and Browning Invector. (NOT Invector+) So aftermarket choke tubes are not hard to find. There is a video that shows how to lighten the Trigger pull. It does require removing the stock, then moving a pin to the other hole. Weatherby could provide a much better owner's manual, but online videos are the thing today. For a grand, I love my Orion Sporting!

1 year agoI have not been able to shoot it yet due to weather and work but can't wait to try it out. Over all appearance and quality of the gun is what you would expect out of a much higher priced one.

1 year agoFantastic purchase for a newbie like myself. I get great compliments on this gun from folks at the range plus it's busting clays. If you need to purchase a second choke of the same kind, they are not available from the manufacturer so you will need to buy two matching from someone else. I chose Trulock chokes and they work excellent.

1 year agoRidiculously good gun for $1100. Took it to trap today for the first time out after picking it up 3 days ago. I did better with it than my Browning Citori 725 Sporting 12ga. My son also did excellent with it. In fact, I won a doubles session while everyone else shot 12ga. Really excited about this gun. Will it last like an Italian or Japanese gun? Only time will tell.

1 year agoI haven’t used this shotgun yet because of the weather. I plan on my next sporting clays outing to take it out and try it. I’ve been using my Browning 725 before. This Weatherby 20ga over/under feels light weight and swings and points well, so I can’t wait to shoot it.

1 year agoGun swings easy. Ported barrel help with recoil. My shoulder was not bruised after a day of shooting sporting clays. Adjustable comb help place the gut to my shoulder and site line. I need to put 2k more of rounds through to see how it holds up.

1 year agoI can’t say enough good things about this shotgun. The workmanship is beautiful, it mounts quick and clean to my shoulder, and is as accurate as I am. I went from struggling to break 10 clays in a round of trap to breaking 17 with the Weatherby in my second round. The barrels break open smoothly, ejectors work great, barrel selector/safety clicks clean into each position. This is my first O/U so I have no direct comparison for quality but after several times of taking this out I feel like I got a great deal.

1 year agoGreat gun right out of the box and perfect for the clay target sports. Good balance and the stock options make it completely customizable. AAAA
