1 year agoAvid collector of left handed Weatherby Rifles. Purchased a 460 several years ago to round out collection. Have been impressed by accuracy with three shot groups averaging an inch at 100 yd’s. This is pretty good since the bullet is nearly half an inch in diameter. A Led Sled with two 25 pound bags of lead shot makes recoil tolerable. Making arrangements now to use rifle for the first time on something other than at the range, a African cape buffalo hunt in the summer of 2020. Seriously hopping rifle performance and my ability will be up to the task!

1 year agoWhat can I say about the .460 Weatherby, other than I LOVE IT! I have Japan made custom deluxe that I fitted with a Leupold scope. My rifle shoots 1 MOA groups all day long with a handloaded 500 grain Barnes TSX at 2600 fps. Although recoil is quite stout the Pendleton brake tames it somewhat, I find it comfortable to shoot. I have taken some scrub bulls (wild cattle) here in Australia and then used it to take a big Cape Buffalo and plains game in Africa in 2018.
