1 year agoThe .375 Weatherby Magnum is the single most versatile cartridge existent. Having been shot multiple times in Vietnam, I know firsthand how painful a wound truly is. The ever so politically correct gun writers who are forever endorsing smaller and ever weaker calibers for hunting are utterly ignorant or do not care in the least about the pain induced by an inadequate wounding bullet. 1 year agoI love my .375 Weatherby. Outstanding terminal performance on game, great accuracy, and relatively flat shooting while delivering a big payload. Anyone considering a .375 H&H would be well advised to consider the Weatherby chambering. I handload Barnes 270gr. LRX @ 2850 fps, giving 4900ft-lbs at the muzzle. My .375 Weatherby shoots 375 H&H ammunition from Remington and Hornady very well, so I don’t have to worry about ammunition options in a pinch. I know my rifle and ammo setup has more

1 year agoWhat a shame that Weatherby decided to stop producing rifles chambered to this grand cartridge. Great performance at reasonable big game ranges with easily managed recoil and increased magazine capacity compared to Weatherby’s Big Five cartridges.

1 year agoHad a Winchester M70 375 H&H rechambered to 375 Weatherby prior to my first hunt in Africa. Traveled to Weaterby in South Gate CA to get a supply of 375 cartridges and bought their entire supply (asked them to search the back room). This included both 270 and 300 grain. I distinctly remember the assistant saying that the bullets were hand-turned on a lathe. Took a large Jumbo in Zambia that same year in the late 1980’s. Also took buffalo and hippo on the same trip.
