1 year agoWhile everyone is entitled to an opinion, there is no perfect round/cartridge. For me, I like this round. It shoots reliably, the pattern is accurate and consistent, and seeing what it does at 7-20 yards, there is no doubt in my mind that "it will kill" (i.e., stop what ever threat that is at the receiving end.) Yes, a full power slug will penetrate body armor better but I don't expect that's going to be an issue with most folks needs for home defense. Try it, you'll like it.

1 year agoGot a new shot gun for home defense. I tested 3 different brands of home defense ammo and this is my choice. When you see the results on target you will be pleased. If you can find it, this is a great round. Accurate, dependable and it will stop a threat.

1 year agoWe tested various shells at a private range. #8 shot, #2, low recoil slug and the Defender. we put up some plywood at about 50’ for a target. #8 had a decent pattern To cheaply get your bearing. #2 shot did as much damage as the slug with more recoil force and a similar pattern to the 8 shot. The low recoil slug tore a huge hole through the plywood and traveled quite a bit further. The defender put a decent wide pattern at the plywood target nearly cutting it in half with the buckshot but

1 year agoGreat round for my new shotgun. Could not believe how accurate your gun becomes. Tore a huge hole in a old washing machine. Great round for home defense.
