Winchester owes its humble beginnings to Rimfire Ammunition. As a matter of fact, Winchester’s first commercially available metallic cartridge ammunition was a large caliber rimfire load introduced back in 1866. More than 130 years later, rimfire is the world’s most popular ammunition. As you would expect, Winchester has you covered with a complete line of high-performance cartridges including the undisputed heavyweight in rimfire ammunition – the 22 Winchester Magnum introduced in 1960. From precision target shooting to plinking, small-game hunting and silhouettes, Winchester is chosen by rimfire shooters worldwide.

2 years agoBought 1,000+ rounds (some bulk pack ('limited edition' issue) some 100 round packs). Wish I had read these reviews first - the one star ones are spot-on. Out of one box of 100, a 10% failure to fire rate (even with multiple strikes). Other failures include failure to feed into the chamber (a result of the bullets being loose and not being seated & crimped). This results in the casing being bent & crushed as it is being fed into the chamber. I started examining them very closely and find these loose bullets throughout. This is through a Ruger Mk IV that fires federal, CCI, blazer, remington, even bulk pack golden bullets pretty flawlessly with no issues. Very disappointed with this product, and I see the responses to the issues from other folks is a posting of a link...???!! Will never buy again and will also seriously have doubts about all Winchester ammo in future.
Disappointed Jeremy
2 years agoThis is extremely frustrating when you busy several cases or this ammo. It’s supposed to be the best. Come to find out a year later that less than half of them actually fire. Thought it may have been my firing pin in my pistol. Put the same round in my revolver results were the same. Tried it in a lever action. Same results. Wish I would’ve know only about 1/3 of these fire and when they do it’s the saddest little pop so quite it sounds like a kids cap gun. I know Winchester is better than this. The super x is supposed to be the best.

2 years agoI have shot roughly 1,000 ground squirrels with this ammo in a Mossberg 144, some sod poodles, and a fox at a bit over 100 yds. Accuracy is good, better than many, but it is the lethality that keeps me shooting from a single lot of 5,000 bullets. No misfires that I can recall.

1 year agoRan these out of a Walther P22. My firearm failed to cycle after every trigger pull. Remington Thunderbolts ran flawlessly.

1 year agoOver 2000 rounds through my ruger precision had maybe 2 rounds that did not fire I've been using this ammo for rat eradication for many years it is highly affective highly accurate out of my rifle I've had .75" groups @ 200yrds with no wind , lead expansion is perfect for small game , or Rodant removal I've taken down hogs with this ammo ( shot placement is obviously key). I really could not say anything bad or negative about this product except its getting hard to find . I promise this product will amaze you.

1 year agoI had 5 misfires with rims struck by the firing pin while attempting to shoot the hundred rounds of this .22 lr ammo through my clean Ruger mkii competition pistol. Not sure why. Other brand ammo no problem. Ammo seemed old. Purchased new within 6 months from major retailer.

1 year agoI picked up a couple of boxes of this stuff and was very disappointed. I had several FTFs (Failed-to-Fire); as many as 1 out of every 3 rounds failed to fire. With my new S&W Victory, if a round doesn't go off, something is wrong with that round because the hammer on my Victory drives the firing pin deep into the rim. Still, I tried each one 4 times in 4 locations on the rim, then I tried my revolver and my 10-22 and still, nothing. Out of 100 rounds, 43 failed to fire the first time. Of the 43, 21 failed to fire after multiple attempts.

1 year agoI have an SR22 - have been searching to find an affordable HV round that would feed and work reliably shot after shot. I have found this with Winchester Super X - both 40 grn and also 37grn. They work great - Have over 1,000 rounds of this product through my pistol with no mishaps. Am attaching a picture of a target I shot today - 30 rds at 25'. Very accurate . Mark C.

1 year agoI have shot almost 200 rnds of this ammo and out of that 150 rounds have misfired/ taken many times to get the ammo to fire, I had one rnd blow up in the chamber next to my face. Poor quality ammo, Will defiantly go with Remington next time.

1 year agoWish I could give it a MINUS rating. Never any issues with CCI, Aguila, etc. Out of 100 rounds I had 16 failures. I ran the failures through my Ruger LCR multiple times. Still no firing. Have never experienced such poor quality ammo in all my years of shooting.

1 year agoIt's ok stuff. Had a number of dud rounds, 12 out of 100. Fed fine, wasn't overly dirty, but that many duds bothered me. I even tried firing them from a single action revolver, but they wouldn't fire.

1 year agoHave only shot this thru our SR-22 but it functions great. Very clean. I have just ordered clear gel to do ballistics tests and this is round I will be testing to find the best self defense round in 22lr. For the price I would definitely buy it over Velcitors; price aside though Velocitors would be the better round.

1 year agoWinchester Super X .22LR Ammo is very good and Accurate for Target and Hunting. The Ammo shoots clean and very reliable.

1 year agoSO far, out of about 50 rounds, 2 no fire. Good dent in rim, rotated tried again. Nothing. Won't feed in 2 of my semi's, the almost flat nose hangs up if not in a perfect flat line. Yhe no fires happened in a revolver and a bolt rifle. no more for me. .
