2 years agoThis ammo will do if its all you can get at the time. Prefer CCI mini-mag because its a lot cleaner and more reliable in my opinion, especially in my Ruger 10/22 and Smith & Wesson M&P 15/22 semi auto rifles.

2 years agoI’ve bought a case of the pictured 22LR 40gr ammo, and I regret it. I’ve probably shot 500 rounds of it and have had at least two dud rounds in a box or 50, which is not acceptable quality for Winchester Super-X! Those are completely dud rounds that will never ignite no matter how many times you hit different place on the rim by re-chambering them. Cheaper “Value Pack” 22LR ammo from different brands do not have as many dud rounds. I cannot recommend this particular ammo to my friends, and I will never buy another box this ammo. Too bad the quality of Winchester Super-X ammo has become this bad....

1 year agoWinchester is not the same quality it used to be. 18 out of 50 rounds were dead. This is not the quality It once was. Waste of money. Winchester Wild Cat was just as bad.

1 year agopurchased a ruger ssr22 and a 10/22charger and a box of that super X ammo.got to the range loaded 70 rds.in my mags and to my and my sons' surprise from the very beginning it was a disaster..they would not charge,detonate or eject.fired about 8-10 rds..had to purchase ammo at range that did work perfectly (Aguila)..shot about 300 rds..with 1 failure..have 2 boxes of 555 and hope they function on my next trip to the range..

1 year agoAfter many thousands of rounds of various ammos fired from a wide array of weapons over a 3+ year period in all types of weather, there were two that tied for second-place & Winchester was one of them.

1 year agoI bought two boxes of high velocity hp white box and I had all kinds of problems in my ruger lcp 2. Brass stuck in barrel……. Shot the same ammo in buddy’s Walter 22 and not one issue. No weak fires or ftf or anything, my gun just didn’t like it. My gun shoots golden bullets, cci standard velocity lead round nose and Aquila super extra lead round nose just fine. Just try it to see if your firearm lines it. Aguilla super extra hp gave me the same issues as the Winchester hp

1 year agoJust completed the practical range test for a SC CCP. Product performed without a hiccup which is unusual for rimfire ammo.

1 year agoI found this at a brick and mortar store, 5 packs of 50 for $87 plus tax. Cabelas Edmonton would not price match. This is the third time Cabela’s would not price match ammo.

1 year agoI bought 3 boxes of this ammo at my local range, because it was affordable and I was running low at home. When I did run out, I opened up these and immediately had issues. I thought maybe it was because of the cold weather outside, but it was bad primers and brass getting caught in the barrel of my handgun. So I cleaned the gun and it seemed to fire a little better, but really not much better. My girlfriend went to ladies night at the range and the range master said it was likely my gun, which is less than a year old and cleaned... so she stopped using it. I bought a different brand of ammo and it ran 50 rounds with no issues, compared to at least 2 jam ups and as many as 5 weak primers per magazine. Very disappointed with this ammunition and I still have 100 rounds left.

1 year ago.22 rimfire ammunition was difficult to find. So, when I saw this Winchester ammunition available, I purchased 5 boxes of the 300rd count. I decided to do some plinking at my friends hunting club. I was shooting it in my Marlin 15YN single shot rifle, Browning Buckmark Camper (10 round mag) and Henry survival rifle (8 round mag). All these firearms were zeroed with CCI Stinger ammo flawlessly. Every magazine had misfires and jams with this Winchester ammo due to the rounds not being ejected. Every casing remained stuck in the breach of the barrel. The extractors on ALL these firearms couldn’t grab the rim of the cases so the next round couldn’t be chambered. Even the single shot bolt action Marlin couldn’t extract the case and I had to use a cleaning rod to push it out. If I could get a refund on this garbage I would. This stuff is SO bad, it should be recalled by Winchester. DO NOT BUY THIS AMMO! You’ll regret it. This ammunition should be rated with 5 negative stars.

1 year agoBought 1,000+ rounds (some bulk pack ('limited edition' issue) some 100 round packs). Wish I had read these reviews first - the one star ones are spot-on. Out of one box of 100, a 10% failure to fire rate (even with multiple strikes). Other failures include failure to feed into the chamber (a result of the bullets being loose and not being seated & crimped). This results in the casing being bent & crushed as it is being fed into the chamber. I started examining them very closely and find these loose bullets throughout. This is through a Ruger Mk IV that fires federal, CCI, blazer, remington, even bulk pack golden bullets pretty flawlessly with no issues. Very disappointed with this product, and I see the responses to the issues from other folks is a posting of a link...???!! Will never buy again and will also seriously have doubts about all Winchester ammo in future.

1 year agoThis is extremely frustrating when you busy several cases or this ammo. It’s supposed to be the best. Come to find out a year later that less than half of them actually fire. Thought it may have been my firing pin in my pistol. Put the same round in my revolver results were the same. Tried it in a lever action. Same results. Wish I would’ve know only about 1/3 of these fire and when they do it’s the saddest little pop so quite it sounds like a kids cap gun. I know Winchester is better than this. The super x is supposed to be the best.

1 year agoI have shot roughly 1,000 ground squirrels with this ammo in a Mossberg 144, some sod poodles, and a fox at a bit over 100 yds. Accuracy is good, better than many, but it is the lethality that keeps me shooting from a single lot of 5,000 bullets. No misfires that I can recall.

1 year agoThis review is for the Winchester Super X .22 WMR JHP ammo (I noticed many of the reviews are for the .22 LR ammo, etc). The ammo is reliable and I have yet to have a round fail to fire. It is fairly consistent/accurate and carries a big ‘thump’ down range. However, this ammo is noticeably dirtier firing compared to CCI and Hornady ammo. It does what it’s designed to do, but there are cleaner, more refined ammunition options out there. I do like the look of the bullets design, seems like it should work for larger pests (Close range coyotes, for example).

1 year agoWell Winchester what can I say here that you have not heard before. First off; Todays prices for Ammo is sky high and yet you turn out more of the same rotton Ammo like you have over the past 30 plus years. IE; So many duds, the dirtiest ammo on the market, loose bullets in case, bent cases. Never again will we ever buy your crap again in ANY Calibur you make. The Company should be ashamed of it's self. We're done and good bye;

1 year agoOver 2000 rounds through my ruger precision had maybe 2 rounds that did not fire I've been using this ammo for rat eradication for many years it is highly affective highly accurate out of my rifle I've had .75" groups @ 200yrds with no wind , lead expansion is perfect for small game , or Rodant removal I've taken down hogs with this ammo ( shot placement is obviously key). I really could not say anything bad or negative about this product except its getting hard to find . I promise this product will amaze you.

1 year agoI brought 2 boxes of this (50 rounds per) and had on average one in every 5 shots misfire. This ammo is faulty. Dont buy it unless they half the price again. Also had 2 boxes of Federal .22WMR, and not a single misfire.

1 year agoI had 5 misfires with rims struck by the firing pin while attempting to shoot the hundred rounds of this .22 lr ammo through my clean Ruger mkii competition pistol. Not sure why. Other brand ammo no problem. Ammo seemed old. Purchased new within 6 months from major retailer.

1 year agoI picked up a couple of boxes of this stuff and was very disappointed. I had several FTFs (Failed-to-Fire); as many as 1 out of every 3 rounds failed to fire. With my new S&W Victory, if a round doesn't go off, something is wrong with that round because the hammer on my Victory drives the firing pin deep into the rim. Still, I tried each one 4 times in 4 locations on the rim, then I tried my revolver and my 10-22 and still, nothing. Out of 100 rounds, 43 failed to fire the first time. Of the 43, 21 failed to fire after multiple attempts.
