Bigger tip, bigger impact. Winchester’s first ammunition ever developed specifically for deer hunting. Deer Season XP copper impact ammunition combines extensive experience into a product engineered specifically for deer hunters. The Extreme Point, copper-solid bullet features an oversized impact diameter. The larger impact diameter means more impact trauma, better energy transfer and larger wound cavities for faster knockdown. The solid-copper bullet design offers improved weight retention for deeper penetration and a red, reinforced polymer tip for product differentiation from standard Deer Season XP loads. Additional features of this bullet include a streamlined ballistic profile and boat tail for flat trajectory, a hollow nose cavity for lethal, terminal performance and a solid-copper construction for maximum retained weight and energy transfer.

2 years agoI have consistently hunted big game for almost 40 years. When I initially shot the first box of Winchester copper deer season XP I found in the stores I was looking for better expansion with deer and pig with copper ammo. I consistently got 1-1.5 inch groups at 100 yards. Since I found this acceptable I bought 10 boxes a month or two later. These boxes shoot like a shot gun at 100 yards, with as much as 4” groups at 100 yards! This is totally unacceptable. When shooting 200-300 yards they are

2 years agonot very good groups in my Tikka 270. Hornady superformance GMX produced 0.34 in group at 100 yards. It was not a surprise....look at how the plastic tip is connected to the copper. Its not very precise. Hence, low quality shooting.

1 year agoAs the 1 star reviewer indicated, my groups were double what my next worse shooting copper round was doing. 100 yds I was getting 3-1/2 to 4 inch groups, scattered everywhere. This rifle had previously shot most other copper loads into about 1-1/2 to 2" groups for me, at most, with TSX, GMX, and Powershok copper loadings. Not the most accurate rifle, but fair for its price (I typically shoot .7"-.8" groups with my Rem Mil-Spec 5R in .308, for comparison). 1:9 twist may be an issue with this

1 year agoI shot and dropped 2 deer with my 300 Win Mag this past Saturday. Last night while putting the spent casings away I noticed that one of them had split and the other had a couple of groves in the brass. Has anyone else had these issues? I was shooting a brand new Browning Xbolt.

1 year agoGood looking cartridge but got horrible groups with my savage axis. Best group was around 5 inches at 100 yards. Remington core-lokt gave at least 1.5". Different rifles like different stuff so I guess I can't blame the cartridge itself without more data. An expensive gamble if you're already pinching pennies.

1 year agoI shot this (.30-06) pretty extensively at the range in preparation for a hunt last Winter and then was fortunate to take two whitetails with it. Very pleased with accuracy at the range and performance on deer. Both the buck and doe dropped immediately. The buck was quartering away with his head down and the bullet traveled from behind the shoulder, through the vitals broke his neck vertebrae and was lodged 20+ inches deep against the skin on the off-side of his neck. Great penetration through bone and the bullet was still intact. This is my new preferred rifle cartridge.

1 year agoThis past year my son shot a nice Missouri Whitetail. We had the 30-06 sighted in with this Deer Season round. Let me tell you this deer didn't go 40 yards! This load shoots well and did its job!

1 year agoRunning these through my 300 win mag and was surprised with my 10 shot group at 100yds. Wish they were heavier than150gr but they are extremely consistent!

1 year agoRecommended this round to a few friends. After taking to the range they are extremely excited to use next weekend in the woods. If they don't bring a few bucks home it won't be because of the ammo

1 year agoI took down a nice mule deer buck at 150 years , excellent product in the lead free world . It took 1 shot only .

1 year agoI was fortunate to take both a doe and buck on opening day of the Missouri deer season with Deer Season XP Copper Impact ammo. I have been very impressed with this product both on the range and in the field. I don't typically change bullet types much, but in this case I'm happy that I made the switch. I had plenty of stories to share in deer camp this season! Thank you!

1 year agoI wrote a review about the regular Deer Season XP not to long ago. It really performs well. So I wanted to try the copper version. I shot a buck this year using it and I'm just as impressed. Both these Deer Season products work exceptionally well. The rebate was an added Bonus!

1 year agoI have been looking for low priced, quality, rapidly expanding, copper rounds in ca. I am a life long hunter and have hunted big game for 30 years in the west. These rounds are fantastic. Absolutely spectacular expansion. I love for deer. Have been shooting large pigs as well. They are working better than I could have hoped. I was shooting federal trophy copper. Great round but was blowing thru with small wound channels. It was fine if perfectly placed but many big game were taking longer to die

1 year agoI was interested in going to a lead free hunting round. I am glad I found this product. It shoots great put of my remington 700 chambered in. 30-06. I get a 2" group at 100 yds and I am positive that is because of my limitations not the rounds. I took a doe from 130 yards and she just dropped no tracking at all. I have already bought a few boxes for the upcoming season and can't wait to send some more copper down range.

1 year agoFor factory ammo this stuff shot pretty darn good. I reload but if I can't find components or don't have time to load I go with off the shelve stuff. In the attached photo the first two shots are in the box but about 6 moa to the left. One shot after a 3 moa adjustment. Last three shots are vertically where I want to be but those were rushed shots so shooter error. The x marks point of aim

1 year agoJust come back from Scotland , got 9 red deer over 4 days and the bullets performed brilliantly.10 bullets fired, operator error resulted in an extra shot . The shots ranged from 150 yards to 320 yards in windy and wintry conditions. The bullet drop was minimal due to most shots up hill

1 year agoAt 100 yards I’ve shot sub 1/2 MOA. Today I shot a 2” group at 300 and a 2.5” group at 500. It was the first time I’ve shot that far. I would have been happy to get 1 on the paper at 500.

1 year agoShot 2 roe deer with this. One fell down instantly. The other ran 15 meters and dropped. Incredible accuracy in my Sako A7 308 20” barrel.
