2 years agoFirst year using this ammo in my .270 Ruger #1 and the results were impressive. I've had this gun for close to 40 years and this ammo was the most accurate I've tried. The buck taken this past November maybe made it 30 yards before collapsing as if it's legs were pulled out from under it. Death was almost instantaneous.

1 year agoCouldn't be happier with this round. It renewed my love for deer hunting in Iowa, been hunting for 25+ years with a slug gun. I dropped four deer in 2020 with this round and my BCA upper and PSA lower. Two dropped right where they stood, one was standing brood side, heart shot, and one was running, neck shot. One was running real hard and I shot it in the upper rear quarters, that was my bad. And the one that is pictured was standing at an angle looking away from me, it ran about 50 yards and was dead on my arrival. Wish I could find more ammo, I realize this isn't Winchester's fault, but I just bought another AR combo for my 11 year old son due to the very light recoil. Thanks Winchester

1 year agoThe brass busted in half in the barrel of my sks and is now stuck in it And the sks is passed down in my family and it may have busted the barrel I have to pay to have a gunsmith check it out. If your looking for ammo DO NOT BUY THIS the ones that didn’t break cracked so it wasn’t just a messed up cartridge it’s all of them

1 year agoShot a doe at 250, and a buck at 270 yards. The doe dropped almost immediately and the buck ran about 40 yards. I shot the buck a little high, probably why it ran that far. I would give it a five but had a few while zeroing didn't hit as well as others, could have been me. Overall about a 3/4" group.

1 year agoEvery year I try and use a different bullet specifically for deer hunting, fopr the last three years I have been using Deer Season XP in 30/06 ( 2 years ) and 6.5 Creedmoor ( 1 year ). I have inserted pics of a large KY whitetail I killed in 2017 at a range of about 25 yards with a 30/06 150gr Deer Season XP and the results were like nothing I have ever seen before. The Deer ran about 50 yards ( how I will never know ) and the blood trail was nothing short of a murder scene it was crazy. The entry hole was fairly small however the exit was very large and big enough that lung tissue physically came out of and was lying on the ground!!!! I also killed a smaller whitetail in 2019 with a 6.5 Creedmoor at about 50 yards and the bullet performed flawlessly, it was like a light switch, Deer was dead instantly. The bullet has penetrated to the other side and you could feel it just below the skin on the offside. Hands down this is the best Deer Hunting ammunition I have used and I have used almost everything!..

1 year agoI have been using it in my 308 and 270 and was so happy with the grouping and how fast the deer go down so I decided to get it for my (at the time 9 year old) sons 300 blackout. Even with that small of a round we have not had to track all 5 of his deer. Just drops them. This year I got him a 5.6 cradmoor for his birthday and was hoping to use it this rifle season in Michigan. But I can not find any rounds on line or in stores. But when we do get our hands on them I'm betting it will be a good round also.

1 year agoUse this in my 300 wsm and its proven to be an awesome round. Would love to buy more if I could find it again at my local gun stores. The only downside is that the tips seem to get knocked around fairly easily. They don't fall out but they definitely get knocked off center. Otherwise great round!

1 year agoCouldn't ask for a better grouping from a factory ammo load. My Winchester model 70 243 loves this ammo. (Great job on production of this ammo.)

1 year agoI bought a CVA Scout in 350 Legend mainly for Javelina. The single shot is all you need! Accurate round, 1 shot at 120 yards is all it took.

1 year agoI bought a Winchester XPR and am using Winchester Deer Season XP 150 grain bullets. I killed a nice buck at 108 yds...he dropped in his tracks. The next day I killed a large doe that was running at 70 yds.....she landed on her nose on the second bound. Two deer...1 shot each.....no tracking required. Great gun, powerful cartridge. I'm impressed. I've been deer hunting over 50 years and I've taken hundreds of deer . I highly recommend this combination.

1 year agoEvery time I pull the trigger my intended target drops. I have tried other bullets, but these seem to work the best for.

1 year agoTook three whitetail deer with this bullet in 300 blk two dropped on the spot third ran about 100 feet and dropped. I would recommend this in most caliber but the .223 although Ifeel it would do the job would probably be better in a heavier grained bullet 75 / 77 grain might be better

1 year agoI purchased a box of deer season ammo in .300 WSM to try in my Browning X Bolt White Gold Medallion . Out of the first five cartridges , I had 2 that that the bullets were seated at different depths and did not fit into the chamber of my rifle , 1 had a loose tip, and the other 2 fired but hit the target 6 inches low and 4 inches left of the bullseye at a 100 yards , from a rifle that shoots half to one inch groups all day long . I quit shooting for fear of damaging my rifle .

1 year agoI've yet to harvest a deer with these so I can't speak to the terminal ballistics yet. Accuracy wise, I was able to get sub-minute accuracy with them, 5 shot groups, from my Browning A-Bold Medallion grade. They shoot as well as the handloads I developed and tuned to my barrel.

1 year agoAfter much frustration trying to buy the ammo I normally use in my Nosler M48 custom I found this available at a couple of retailers online. Ordered three boxes and took it to the range. Excellent results. Under 2” groups at 200 yards. Just under 3” at 300 yards. At almost half the price of the stuff I’ve been using, I’m a convert. I’m sure on deer size game it will do well.

1 year agoGot the 6.5 in the spring with these shells got to go out with it and Thur night shot a doe down in her tracks ,Friday morning I shot another doe and down in her tracks I got great impact on both and can't wait to shoot a little farther would like to buy this tip for reloading

1 year agoI was really impressed with the accuracy of this ammunition. I was able to shoot 2 MOA with my Ruger Mini 14 and a cheap scope which is really impressive for that firearm. Harvested a fairly big-bodied buck for the Adirondacks (150 dressed) with the Winchester XP at 80 yards. Entry was a little low behind the shoulder, still double lung I believe, but there was no exit. He sprayed like a garden hose for 20 yards and fell over, didn't even kick. For small to medium sized deer under 100 yards I think this ammunition is excellent. However, the penetration would be lacking for longer shots, fully mature deer, or impact with the shoulder bones.
