Forty yards has long been the standard by which all turkey loads were measured. No more. It’s time to go farther with Winchester Longbeard XR. Featuring new-to-the-world Shot-Lok Technology. Longbeard XR offers the tightest patterns and longest shot capability of any traditional turkey load in history – with twice the pellets in a 10″ circle out to 60 yards. Longbeard XR has the knockdown power of popular heavier-than-lead loads at a fraction of the cost, meaning it’s a turkey-slamming game changer for hunters looking to push the limits.

2 years agoI've used other ammo and use to load my own, this has amazing knock down power. 30-50yrds is the ticket for my Beretta A400 Xtreme Plus!

2 years agoI used the 12 ga 3" #5 shell to drop a 22 lb Tom at 40 yards. From practice, I knew I had good pattern out to 50 yards, but to experience the knockdown power of these shells is what its all about. Its one and done. These shells are as good as they say they are.

2 years agoBest shell on the market because of its performance, and the price is extremely reasonable. Killed a tom at 55 yrds. Best shell there is.

1 year agoSeen your new turkey loads on the out door channel . Killing long beards past 50 yrds . I had to try them . Because during my last to seasons they would fly down out of range . This year was different I new in my mind I had the nock down power at 50 yrds , and more shot going towards the target. I watched this long beard fly down with a subboardnt long beard three Jake's and a punch of hens . Man did he put on a show . Strutten and gobblen ,for about thirty min . But of course he hung up . I new

1 year agoTwo years in a row using these shells, both birds less then 30 yards, and never moved, after the shot.

1 year agoSwitched from Rem Nitro in my 870 to XR. Shooting 3” #4 out of an 18 1/2” Carlson barrel with a Carlson xx full choke tube. WOW. Already this spring killed a bird at 50 yds and one at 60yds. Birds never even flopped! Would never have tried this with the rem ammo. Friends having same results. Impressive!

1 year agoMy son smoked one at 42yds with the 20ga 3.5” #6 and I smoked mine at 60yds with 12ga 3.5” #6. A Father and son Double up to remember. Thanks Winchester!

1 year agoSlammed two nice toms with the 3.5" #5 s. One at 28yds the other at 50yds. Both one shot bang flops. These pattern real good with my Winchester SXP with Primos Tight wad choke.

1 year agoFirst year shooting Long Beard XR ammo (was shooting Hevi-shot) out of my Winchester 1300 in 12 Ga and I was definitely impressed. Main thing is when the turkey is close (within 15 yards) you better be steady and have your aiming spot locked in. Missed a turkey at 10 yards opening weekend in MO (not the ammo's fault but my own) when he came in silent to my calling location. The other two turkeys I shot however did not fair as well as that first one. Both were taken at around 25 - 30 yards and

1 year ago#4s have always been my favorite in the spring woods.....now with LongBeardXR in #4s my lethal range has been increased and remains ethical. Pattern density and hits on target have been doubled when compared to plain old lead loads which is bad news for the Gobblers! Give-'em a try, you will not be disappointed.

1 year agoThis past spring I was lucky in enough to call in a rare smoke phase Turkey and harvest the long beard with some Long Beard ammo! Quite possibly the best Turkey hunt I have ever had! No flop with this bird- stone cold dead!

1 year agoWhen these first came out I honestly thought they would be a gimmick.... then I shot them. These are no joke! They will flat layout a turkey further than I’ll hopefully ever need to shoot. These pattered out of my 835 w/Carlson extra full choke as well as another much more expensive brand of shells. Gone are the days of me paying $25+ for 5 shells. I will continue shooting these for as long as they’re made.

1 year agoVery satisfied with these shells. At 40yrds I did a comparison between the Winchester Double X(6shot)and the Long Beards XR(4shot)using the PatternMaster Code Black Turkey Choke Tube in a Browning Maxus. As you can see in the photo the differences. The LB XR she’ll was much tighter.

1 year agoI've been using these shells in 12 and and 20 gauge. Winchester really hit it out the park with these shells.

1 year agoShot dozens of birds with this combo. Started using a Carlsons XR choke designed for this particular load and the results are dead birds and an extended 60 yard range. Thank you for manufacturing such a fine product. I never think twice about chambering your ammunition.

1 year agoI have been using XR 3.5” #6 (magnum) out of a Stoeger M3500 Turkey and Carlson’s XR .650 choke for the past two seasons. Killed 3 birds ranging from 10-45 yards. Every bird was stone dead. My only complaint is not being able to find it ANYWHERE today.

1 year agoPerforms even better than expected! 25 straight gobbler kills from 5 yds out to 65 yds! My Remington 870 Super Mag with my Gobblin Thunder choke loves these loads!

1 year agoI've killed an absolute boat load of birds with these Loads....if you can't absolutely destroy one anywhere inside 60 yards, you probably need to either check you nerves or your equipment.........amazing knockdown power !

1 year agoI will post photos of patterns, I shoot a winchester SX4 with Carlson .655 the snow bird was shot at 57 yards.

1 year agoBeen shooting these 12ga 3" #5 2oz. Turkey loads for a long time with devastating results. I was disappointed to learn the 2oz was no longer available so I bought 3 boxes of the 1 3/4oz. I've killed turkeys from 5 to 59yds.i hope the results stay the same. I don't think they will disappoint. Looking forward to pattern results.
