1 year agoI bought this firearm last month through Bass Pro for my 20 gauge only club. I was able to pick it up a few days ago, and took it right out to the rice fields. That first evening I doubled up on two pairs of mallards and knocked down a big bull sprig. The SX4 20 gauge with heavy metal shot 4 hit the birds hard. This is a great gun with zero recoil and kick back. I recommend this to all waterfowl hunters looking for something less than that 12 gauge.

1 year agoI wanted to shoot the gun a few times before I reviewed it, to get a better feel for it, but after several trips to the range, and having run approximately 300 shells through the gun, I'm very pleased. I was surprised with how soft-shooting the gun is. My model is 12ga, chambered for 3 1/2" shells, but I primarily shoot 3"s. Even when I ran a half-box of 3 1/2" heavy load waterfowl shells through it, it cycles easily and feels more gentle on the kick than I was anticipating. It handled every 3" shell I ran through it with no issues whatsoever. The charging handle and bolt release are both a bit oversized and very easy to operate, and the gun is very simple to break down for cleaning. I ran a variety of shells through the gun, and it handled everything very well, with the exception of 2 3/4" light target load. Even with this, the issue did not pop up much, but there were times where the spent shell casing did not eject cleanly and cycle the next round. Making sure everything was clean and lubed helped, and I did not experience this with anything other than the 2 3/4 light target loads. However, the gun does seem to do just a bit better shooting heavier shells/loads. Overall though, the gun is extremely easy to shoot and operate, simple to clean and maintain, and is excellent for the price you pay for it. I would definitely buy again in future.

1 year agoSo i was either going to buy the sx4 or the benelli sbe 3 I went with the sx4 . It shot the first 200 rounds flawlessly. then jammed 4 times out of the next 100 shells put through it. Im pretty sure it just needs more lube as i broke it down when I got home and thats what I think. Mostly the gas piston so maybe its my fault I kinda doubt it as I lubed it up before I left but maybe. Other than that Its a great gun. Do think the rice is a bit much but i also think its in the benelli sbe3 class for alot less so.

1 year agoMy son is left handed so this left hand action semi-auto pleases him greatly. Chambered in 3.5, 3 and 2 3/4 inch 12 gauge he is ready to hunt anything a shotgun is used for. And with a 26 inch long barrel the shotgun is light to carry and shoot.

1 year agoAwesome, really happy with the product. Only issue is the color in the online photo is a little different than the actual firearm. Looks better in person in my opinion.

1 year agoNice shotgun. I really like the feel and the design. The poly composite stock and fore-grip with the black matte finish barrel is perfect for me. I didn't want a scratch-free and shiny shotgun for viewing. Great action and easy on the shoulder. Guns.com is a top-notch online merchant. Guns.com and a Winchester SX4 is a perfect combination.
