2 years agoAfter many weekends of heavy use, I do not think any other shotgun in this price range could hold its own with the SXP. I would 100% re buy this shotgun. Overall very pleased!

2 years agoMy first shotgun and last one just holding it feels great never mind shooting. Anyway great gun and I don't care if it's made in Turkey....

1 year agoI shopped around quite a bit before buying this shotgun and I am absolutely satisfied by my decision to go for the SXP. I tried Benellis mossbergs, Remington fancy Italians and many others but this one really naturally fit my shoulder and the stock padding is the best. Plus this shotgun really thinks is a semiautomatic. It ejects by itself . I run all sorts of ammo brands through it and mine hates Challenger but loves All winchester and Remington shells. Also it is rather light weight and even my wife (who doesn't like guns) says that is beautiful. Easy to clean , does not ask for much attention. I love it.

1 year agoThis is my first shotgun. I wanted something easy to care for, reliable, and versatile without spending too much money. My primary use is upland bird, and maybe deer. A ton of research led me to the Winchester SXP. I've put 300 shells through it since purchase and it performs beautifully. Easy to clean - the barrel can be removed without tools, and the trigger assembly, firing pin and bolt are all accessible by pushing through the pin behind the trigger guard. The action is super smooth and feels very locked in. It's a ton of fun to shoot. Recoil is manageable even with 3" turkey loads. The bead sight is fine for aiming applications like static target and turkeys. Since Winchester also sells different barrels (turkey, rifled deer, etc), I think this gun will do everything I need it to for the foreseeable future, since I don't plan on needing a scope.

1 year agoI've had this for about a year. Never had a jam and shoots nice with low recoil. It looks fantastic and is easy to clean. Go ahead, look at other pump shotguns in this price range. It's not even close, this one is the best.

1 year agoI purchased this shotgun for my wife. She is a small framed woman and had alot of trouble finding a pump shotgun that she could easily reach the pump on.At 5 ft 2 inches and about 120lbs. she has no problem shooting this gun.Great for smaller women or youth shooters. She had a Mossberg 500 and even with a grip on pump could barely reach to cycle, this one is absolutely no problem, perfect shooter for her.

1 year agoThe shorter length of pull is great for smaller size shooters, operation is flawless. Trigger is a little heavy, point of aim is on the higher side. Works well.

1 year agoI bought this gun as an inexpensive (<$1000) field gun. It was to replace my old Winchester pump. What a disappointment! These guns are now made in Turkey, and although they look good, the machining is poor, the fit is poor (sloppy),on the fore stock and after only 300 rounds it started jamming. A total strip down revealed a worn trigger hammer and loose screws on the shuttle side plates. I wish I had never sold my old Winchester pump, but it's true, you only get what you pay for. On the plus side , it is definitely an extremely fast pump action if you keep it clean and lightly lubed.

1 year agoBought this recently and have put about 80 Winchester Super Target shells through it without a single issue. For the price it has a great action and the recoil pad is a bonus.

1 year agoI bought my SXP Field 2 years ago now and I’ve hunted ducks, geese, grouse and I’ve carried it for bear protection in the backcountry. I’ve never had a jam or other problem, no signs of rust or unnecessary wear. I hope to use this well into the future. Winchester/Browning also has the best customer service in the industry

1 year agoI bought this shotgun before the 2020 season and I'm in love. I am using a cremator long range tube, and a shot range tube. It never fails. Great shotun

1 year agoCouldn’t be happier with it. I love everything about it, feels solid, very smooth action, shoots slugs fantastic and it looks great, awesome gun!

1 year agoI fired 5x 2 3/4 target load rounds when the trigger assembly warped and caused a spring to land on the safety mechanism, locking up the action on the gun with the next live round stuck in the chamber. Because of how badly the assembly warped I could not eject the round and had to disassemble a live, loaded gun to make it safe to transport. This cheap gun could have killed or seriously injured me or my family memebers. My trust is shaken to the core by Winchester/ Browning and by Cabelas. The gun has been at the gun smith for 3x longer than I had it in my possession and still I am waiting to own a working SXP 12g.... We are lucky as a family that nobody got hurt. Terrible product, terrible service by all parties involved. That was my last trip to Cabelas

1 year agoThere is two in our house by now wouldn't hesitate from buying another. Works like a charm raccoons, beaver, gophers, ravens, and magpies would all leave a terrible review if they were capable of doing so=)

1 year agoBeyond happy with this gun! I've fired 3 boxes of shells through this beauty and it hasn't bound up once! 2 3/4" & 3" shells both cycle through it perfectly. The finish is gorgeous and the details are excellent! It's a solid, strong, get it done gun. Awesome gun, way to go Winchester!

1 year agoThe sxp is consistently priced under other guns like the moss. 500 and rem. 870. However, I truly mean it when I say this gun blows others away. Solid build, good finish, and does what it needs to for an entry level pump. You won't regret going with this gun. I've had lots of people ask me what it is and I love suprising them by saying it's a winshester.

1 year agoTook the gun out for tap shooting for the second time. Shooting federal field/target loads. Barrel ring sheered off the barrel.
Showdown Method
1 year agoVery stiff action after a good cleaning and oiling. I’m hoping some more rounds through it will loosen it up. When it arrived, it had some scuffs on the side of the barrel that need the bluing touched up. The wood looks nice, given the price point, though the fitting could be a bit better.
