1 year agoTrue story! I hesitated big time. almost cancelled it out completely as a viable option for a good all round 12 gauge. I really did believe all the scrutiny about made in turkey being questionable quality and what not. But i can say for my experience now, i am glad i said screw it and took the plunge and picked up the 3” 12 gauge model. Get ready for this one….. its now replaced my benelli nova as my go to 12 gauge. Both are a completely different animal all together, but for me the sxp wins for the following. It is lighter, so carrying it around all over the woods is not as difficult as the 8lb nova can be after a half hour walk. The sxp seems to be easier on the shoulder with its softer butt pad after shooting a few heavy loads. I love my nova, but Benelli doesn’t seem to care to give a better stock butt pad option. And in canada its hard to find aftermarket options. I purchased the 3” model because i hate shooting 3 1/2” shells with a passion. Its supposed to be a 12 gauge shotgun, not a 10 gauge. And to me, its also less travel of the pump by an inch total, making it faster to shoot than the 3 1/2” model. (On paper) lol all in all, amazing shotgun for the price! Especially on sale.
